Would you ever consider renting out the paint booth for a little extra money? There doesn’t seem to be many options for rentable spray booths in Georgia from what I’ve seen.

i know i’m late to the party but an fyi 4g63’s especially 6 bolt and 7 bolts are notorious for ticking sounds, and i know i own three 1g’s and i tried a lot of different stuff even on my 91 laser rs turbo and nothing really helped

Should have put the sump on filled it with oil before putting the timing belt on you could have used a drill to pump oil around and especially up to your valve train.

the first mistake was painting the walls black. there’s a reason pretty much all automotive paint booths are bright white. i HIGHLY recommend painting them white

You should swap your fan around! Throw a filter on both sides you’ll have way less dust, positive pressure FTW!!

Every top end shop I’ve worked at used the tekna devilbiss. Biggest thing is I would use an HVLP gun and make sure you use a pressure valve at the gun. You only need 30-40 psi at the gun

Make the walls out of the 2x4s with styrene/plastic sign board to cover since its cheap and at almost any craft/harware store, then use rubber moldings/seals for the outer edge of the 2x4s and you got a solid seal!

devilbiss paint gun but more importantly is water separator/filter. Also there is companies that make a heavy duty plastic/vinyl divider curtain that you can draw across the door and skip the plastic sheet and tape.

You are a unique guy and you have to be to be a successful fabricator. Able to visualize what you need and go make it happen and it certainly helps to have a well equipped shop like you have and know how to use all the equipment. I enjoy watching you work.

put Velcro around the doors then get a tarp and just put it up each time, also it would be a good idea to cover up the exhaust fan when its not in use so dust doesn't blow in.

Please put a filter on that exhaust fan! Otherwise your just jetting your overspray outside and risking it getting on another car or something

Try maybe building a small wood frame around the doors then stapling the plastic the the frame and just using the tape to seal ?

just get four plywood sheets to cover the garagedoors that you can screw on when painting and use tape to cover the bottem gap and the one in between two boards

Maybe try the plastic on the outside of the doors, so it's held on by tape & the airflow sucking it onto the door will only help. Edit: the spray can technique needs improvement, IMO & I am no painter. If you paint like that, you're sure to get runs. And possibly, consider putting a filter on the fan, so all of the paint doesn't just end up gumming up the fan....

I'm not convinced that your painting Booth room should be black. Surely this interferes with the lighting failing to bounce off the walls to provide the best visual ability to gauge of how the paint looks? I've never seen a painting booth in black, it's always white and for obvious reasons.

Put plastic on the outside of the doors and only put it up when u need it. Let the structural frame of the door do the work.

Roll up garage door seal solution. Think bounce house style plastics with Velcro strips on the walls. Roll up when not in use. Keep up the good work, shop is really coming together.

Those Amazon air dryers are pretty hit or miss. Installed a similar one at my shop, same issue out the box with the auto drain on the first chamber. The sight glasses on mine also cracked and by reading reviews sounds to be a common issue. Would recommend just exhanging units to keep your compressor from cycling too much with that constant leak. My 2nd one has been doing ok so far.

Recently won best restoration at Amelia too with my set up 😂. (I’m painting million $ Ferrari’s). Prep is everything. Wet the floors. Use good products. Ppg vibrance line slaps.

If that's a metal roof, When it's dry go to town on that roof with a welder and a silicon caulk gun

An automatic shutter louver vent mounted on the exterior wall would help your rain issue. You can pick them up for about $50 at a hardware store. Excited to see this booth in use!

On our paint booth fan we have a little overhang on the outside to deflector water.

I think if you got some tarps with the rubber edges and used rubber mounting strips to mount it around the door the seal would be much better. Also you need to seal that roof any type of moisture is bad news
